The view of the Whaleback (11,717') from Big Wet Meadow in Cloud Canyon, Sequoia-Kings Canyon National Park, is breathtaking. This peak is climbed almost exclusively by members of the Sierra Peaks Section, Angeles Chapter, Sierra Club. While ropes aren't really necessary, climbers should consult the latest guidebook for a description of the safest route. Photo taken August 29, 1992 by Petesthousandpeaks.
