RATTLESNAKE MOUNTAIN 96X January 16, 2022

With new things from the online retailer, I had some frugal supported food at home, from past groceries. Waking up on this sunny Sunday, I sought to do a hike with the usual food stops. I had slept most of the day yesterday, and so got my diet soda, burger, and chicken at the fast food. I had been reviewing my old submissions to the past peak section newsletter, now posted online, from back in Sacramento, so noted what a good time that I had peak bagging. After the 1987 ban, I enjoyed my climbs and travel mostly on my own, with few if any to ever carpool at bargain rates.

With drier trails, I did the Rattlesnake 96X, and sauntered back to my car. A fetching young redhead ran up the dirt road, good to see fit and active people doing some peak and views. I went over to get an organic salad, then motored back home to have ice cream.

Home safely, tomorrow will be a holiday, and with great hiking weather, but sad to say, none of this old enviro hiking club will ever enjoy any of it on peaks. I'm open to a camping and climbing trip to the Desert, but sadly, no one will ever come forward to team up with me. I had a good desert hiking time last year as I lived in Las Vegas, but never did anyone from the Club or the Net ever care to speak with me.

Sparing wear and tear on my electric sedan, it starts to look dubious to be getting an electric truck. Not due now till 2023, I have such low income right now that I likely wouldn't afford the additional monthly payments. If they enable a robotaxi network, or I get some roommates, this could change fast. I also have prospects to flipping my home, and then moving south to Las Vegas. My plan is to sit tight and see what happens, as I'm content to wait for better days ahead.

Looking that the old enviro hiking club may never bring back their outings, I am so aware that most or all of them hate peak bagging. I had a fair enough 2021 season aside from the forest fire smoke precluding a lot of hiking in late summer, but for peak bagging locally, I have been there, done that, so many times. No one wishes to join me even for salary, so I climb alone, with my generousity and experience going to waste.
