FRAZIER FALLS May 3, 2021

Up to do some payments, I finished with that so figured to do a short trip, with some frugality required. I had oat cereal, and took off northbound up 395 then to CA 70, and finally Graeagle. Taking the side road to Frazier Falls, I had called the agency in charge, and back a week or so ago, they said it was closed. Checking their website, I found today that it was now open. I did the mile hike round trip, with no snow completely blocking the paved trail.

To the viewpoint, I captured photos of the falls. Going back quickly, I made sure to screenshot the stats. Then back to CA 89, to search for Webber Falls. I had no signal, so didn't find it by Maps or directions. Later, I saw that I didn't drive far enough up the road.

To Truckee for lunch, I called the old peak buddy, but she must have been busy. Always an excuse why never to chat, anyway. I forgot to charge up the car last night, so was too tired anyway to head for Tahoe. Taking the Interstate back home, I got coffee at the roadside casino.

Glad to make it back home safely, I have no travel or hiking partner to ever take over the wheel. And not for a million dollars. To bed, I was back up to work on my website. A waste of time to chat with the editor of the peak section newsletter, as I would tell her how to be rich, but forever refused.
