DONNER SUMMIT AND TWIN PEAKS March 8, 2021
Up so early again, I tended to online business. With food last night and this early a.m., I did eat well. I had to return a memory card that did not work with my camera. That done, I zoomed over to a fast food to get $1.08 diet soda. I forgot to take plenty of drink and also my cooler.
Zooming westbound on Interstate 80, I had my dash cams running, with photos. I meant to go to Nevada City or somewhere, but on getting to the Pass rest area, I saw heavy snow was due for this afternoon. Turning back, I headed for the three casino complex, to see very few people inside. I ordered a taco plate, and dined okay, with plenty of social distancing practiced.
Needing my daily exercise, I headed for the Huffaker Hills TH. Really windy, but I bagged Twin Peaks, and signed into the register. Too windy for good photos, so I headed back down. Returning home, I had to get to bed, as I was up so early.
Then back up at 5:30 p.m., I got to the computer to do webwork. Mostly done by 8 p.m., I had an ice decaf coffee and reviewed my work.
Speculating, I imagined that the Sierra Club, them declaring some recognition of their racist past, would make amends, and acknowledge and apologize. I could turn around completely as far as stating the truth about them and their ways. If they would ever see the light, and get back to explore, enjoy, and protect, it could be then my future million would go to them, as far as my will. Unlikely, as their membership has changed for the worst. From supporting peak bagging and all, to being a bunch of gross polluters and hike-haters.
Never ever would they admit to their hatred, and also forever refuse to my efforts to help save the planet/environment. A lot of them would have to go to jail, as they committed crimes against humanity. The Club would have to purge its membership, and lose then many of their 4 million members, as they claim. Being founded by such a hateful person, with hikers to join basically what they refer to as majority, with piddly tokenism, I expect that it would be much easier, to just declare bankruptcy or what, with interested members to join other clubs or groups.
To wait to see what happens, in any case, I moved on. Going solo rather than catering to nazis and hatred, as ordered by the Ex-Comms of so many chapters, this has been my choice for the last many years.
