MAX'S LOOKOUT 10X, TAHOE RIM TRAIL TO TAMARACK LAKE CONNECTOR TRAIL June 17, 2021

Deciding that I wasn't feeling good enough to drive to Lassen Park, Crater Lake NP, and eventually to Portland, OR, I chose to stick about home. I had some cookies for breakfast, then left to hike to Max's Lookout 10X. Then to get some $1 lemonade along South Virginia Street, and eager for some travel, I motored up NV 431 to Sierra Summit.

Running into backpackers, they were doing the TRT. I hiked northbound or counter clockwise to the Tamarack Lake Connector Trail. Interested in exploring, I took the trail to the connector trail back to the TRT and then to return to Sierra Summit. Chatting with an Eric, I gave him my business card. He was a thru hiker, and then interested in peak bagging. Too tired to do the East Shore Trail, too, I motored back to the Mall to have fish and chips.

I had run out of caffeinated drink, so became drowsy at the wheel. I wish for dine-in at the fast food, so I can once again have diet soda for $1, and relax. When I lived in Fallon, NV, I'd do this near every day. To walk over to the nearby Supercenter, and patronize the fast food eatery there. To surf the Net using my phone, and to enjoy ice cold, refreshing drink. Over the winter, my daily exercise was to water my many plants and trees. Carrying buckets of water, this was work, and I'd pay $15/hour salary for help. Now, with an HOA to maintain my yard, I don't have to water. Free then for hiking and peak bagging, this is worth the monthly dues.
