GALENA FALLS July 5, 2021
Up early to do webwork, I had breakfast both at home and at the natural foods store. Taking NV 431 up the hill, I came to the Mt. Rose trailhead to start my hike to Galena Falls and back. Overflow parking spaces were being used, but I suppose due to near $5/gal. in California, the trail wasn't so crowded. No bugs, and pleasant conditions. I made it to the falls with a 2.5 hike near exactly.
Back to the car, I placed a sign to indicate my free drinks and snacks. Only two hikers took anything, and then I got an e-mail to tell me a delivery was made to my house. With no thru-hikers and my hospitality being refused, I motored back home. My delivery was secured, I reheated leftovers, and also got more raisin cinnamon bread.
My live streams were going well, and shortly, I get the shade motor with the remote installed, and then the rod and curtain placed for my skylight. I then cancelled my order for a $1,300 new queen bed frame. The PCT thru hikers would have mostly passed through the area, and if my generousity is declined, I don't waste my money.
