RATTLESNAKE MOUNTAIN 61X AND SIERRA SUMMIT NV 431 July 2, 2021

With getting my daily exercise by bagging Rattlesnake Mountain 61X, I sought breakfast. I had filled up a cooler with drinks and taking snacks for thru-hikers. I motored up NV 431 to Sierra Summit, where I'd spend much of the day serving hikers. I mostly drank up the diet soda myself as I sat in my lawn chair. I invited a TRT thru-hiker for a drink, and she took a powerade. Chatting with some other hikers, they mostly didn't want anything. One summit hiker also took a power drink. A Sheriff's helicopter had been flying overhead, maybe a rescue in progress.

I hiked up the Tahoe Rim Trail twice, to the lake view for more exercise, and helped a family enjoy the sights. It started to thunder, so for my personal safety, I left to head back down the hill. It really poured with lightning, so a good call. I got two chicken tacos for $6.50 at the natural foods store along South Virginia, and then motored back home. Cooler with T-showers, it was a day of weather drama.
