SIERRA BUTTES 10X July 17, 2021

With two slices of bread for breakfast, I saw smoke to the south of town. I decided to head north, where the skies were bluer. Taking U. S. 395 north, I took CA 70 westbound to the rest area, with photos by me. Motoring on, I caught sight of the Buttes ahead. I had register books to place, so chose an 10X ascent of Sierra Buttes.

Starting at the regular trailhead, this was a weekend with many hikers starting out. I took the usual route up, and topped out after some 1:49. There was smoke to the north and to the south, but it was sunny and clear here. With the same old views, I placed my new register book, and hikers signed in. A bit queasy with heights, I started down the staircase, rested at the bottom, noting the many hikers taking to the top.

I took the jeep road down, as I wish to drive up when I get my CyberTruck. To scope out the dirt road, I am sure that I will be able to drive up in the coming super EV. The road descends, and I had to climb back up to get back to my car, some 270 feet of gain. With only my one can of soda consumed on my climb, I had an insulated bottle of cold water in addition to a can of soda in my cooler.

I noted a festival of sorts in Graeagle, so drove back to investigate. Many colorful items were for sale, and I spent a lot of my cash, with one use of Apple Pay. I am uncertain about incurring more debt, as the documents that I signed for my cash out refinance indicated to not incur more debt, but I assume this won't be any great problem. I need to speak with the financing company to be sure.

With photos ahead as I motored home, I had dinner and placed my new art items.
