HUFFAKER HILLS: RATTLESNAKE MOUNTAIN (5,011 feet high) 23X AND TWIN PEAKS (4,831 feet high) February 26, 2021
With things done this morning, I had to go to the Post Office to mail a letter and get stamps. Then to head for the Huffaker Hills TH, to bag Rattlesnake 23X, and also Twin Peaks. I captured video of the jets as they flew by.
Speaking with other hikers, some carried loads, to get in shape for backpacking. I saw that my registers were okay, so did not take too long on the tops. It became windy in climbing Twin, so I muted the video.
Two Sheriffs deputies had come by, and they seem puzzled that the USFS would ban summit registers. They said that they would not arrest me for littering on my placing summit registers. I have to reaffirm with Washoe County Parks, as Clark County Parks stated to have to go through various channels to get me approval, and since I started with register placement back in November, I have not heard a word back even to this day.
Back home, the wind had scattered my garbage, placed out on my driveway, as after even a month, I had no garbage service. I had started my account yesterday, as initially they said that there was some glitch, and then waiting for weeks, heard nothing, as all the neighbors got their own bins. Managing to pick up most of the trash, I secured it so it would not blow away again. With no time, I did not continue painting my garage, with no help whatsoever.
Getting to my computer, I started with downloads and webwork. I received some art and other deliveries, so it has been a clear, windy day. Due now for a vaccine appointment, I will shortly be in the clear from Covid. With still things to do about the home, I am making progress in setting things up. With now two computers to be connected to two TVs, I will have the Net to be displayed on my 50-60 inch TV screens.
I also installed another video cam, so it follows me about as I move. I can see the video chatter on my TV, so cool, with one person to be displayed already. I hope to do plenty more video chat this way, so I sit at my recliner with the chat image displayed on a 60 inch screen.
In maybe 10 days, I get delivery of items to give to people asking for help, with tech devices and clothing with food and drink, in addition to access to information for homeless services or free food, and also job ops and pure fun. Maybe this will get me on the news, with hundreds of dollars worth of items to be given away. I will seek donations and assist, but likely, I go this alone. I will be posting photos of the recipients on my website, so stay tuned, for who gets my care packages!
