LAS VEGAS DAY TWENTY ONE December 1, 2020

Black Mountain (5,092’)

Up early again, I worked on my website. I’d do a peak today, so motored south along the Boulevard to the Supercharger at the Linq. Getting breakfast, I zoomed over to the trailhead, though my navigator took me to a circle with no trail. A kind lady gave me the directions to the trail parking.

Starting the peak hike, I was misinformed about facilities. I had to relieve myself, so did so into a pee bottle and a shopping bag. Leaving my poop to be picked up on my return, I took the trail 404 up. Capturing so many photos, I had my Watch running to record my stats. The trail is gradual at first, then turns into a class 2 scramble close to the summit. Other hikers told me the way, and that this was the right trail.

Worried a slight bit about taking a tumble, or a slip, I used caution and made it to the top. Nice views, then a register. I placed my own book and pen, as the current book was nearly full up. I left the top a bit past 3 p.m., and knew it was only some 3.4 miles back. Capturing even more photos, I made it back to pick up my poop bag, and dumped it into a doggie poop container. To the car by dusk, I motored off with a diet soda to drink from my cooler.

Looking for a nice meal to celebrate a safe and successful ascent, a Japanese restaurant was closed, so I went to the nearby Pho restaurant. Ordering the best, I had ribeye pho. Bored, I did a video of me eating the bowl of soup. Then to the Strip from the far south end, to capture it all with my dash cams. The Arch was photographed for another set of photos.

Home, I started with the downloads, but sleepy, I retired to bed. Up at 11:40 p.m., I resumed my webwork.

A glorious day, with clear views, and even a good scramble of sorts!
