FLESHER AND ROGERS PASSES, THEN EAST ON INTERSTATE 90 August 6, 2020

Up in the dark, I couldn’t sleep any longer, so checked out of the motel, and took Interstate 15 north past Helena, MT. Exiting to head over Flesher Pass, it was nice in the early morning. With little traffic, I saw the sunrise from about the pass. Then to Rogers Pass, a shorter way north, and then back to Interstate 15.

With a Supercharge in Helena, I got groceries at the nearby supermarket with ice. Taking highways to intersect with I-90, I shortly was zooming along eastbound. I started to get low on charge, and it showed only a mile to spare on getting to the next Supercharger. Taking conservation measures, I lowered my speed to about 65 mph, and turned off the a/c and music. This gave me 9 more miles to have when I got to the Billings Supercharger.

Going to a nearby restaurant, I had some food and drink, with rest. Then I was off to visit the Little Bighorn Battlefield National Monument. A bucket list goal, I had to make stops, so lost time. Getting there 8 minutes after closing, there was a shut gate, so I couldn’t even enter the park to go for a hike. Going to the tourist trap across the street, I looked, but saw no good souvenirs, with my big disappointment.

Now becoming tired and sleepy, I stopped for some Chinese food in Hardin, MT. I started to recall at the workplace, they didn’t think a Chinese restaurant was appropriate for this area, as it’s for the Sioux, by them. Maybe my memory, as they agitated plenty of hate. Grateful that I could get cups of won ton soup and also egg flower soup, this helped to revive me.

Motoring back west on the Interstate, I made it to my motel, where the manager became angry and made threats to refuse service, as I didn’t like their disregard for social distancing. I didn’t argue, and got my room, chatting with two friendly motorcyclists outside. One guy said, “No way,” when I told him my age.

I told them of getting rich by the stock market, as I told other people. If I had the guts, I could have made $100,000 with the money that I had available and somewhat affordable. Not willing to invest more than I could afford to lose, I threw away a small fortune in hindsight. I fear for the coming economic collapse, which the experts predict. With the massive government spending due to the virus, they soon will not be able to pay the interest on the national debt. Back years ago, they came real close to declaring bankruptcy.

With no more benefit payments or any disbursements, people won’t have any money to get food or other essentials. They forecast riots, looting, and then general anarchy. The cops won’t be getting paid, so they’ll be doing nothing. The dollar will become worthless, and world finances will dissolve, big time. It’ll be worse than the Depression of the 1930’s.

I have my money into my property, which legally they can’t take away. I have plans to grow my own food, and scavenge from the nearby farms. I then have to arm, to protect against bandits and bad guys. We can form a neighborhood association, to form some joint protection, by force of arms.

This may never happen, as there’s smart people and wise government. But then most people don’t believe in safety when it comes to Coronavirus. 30% now say they’ll refuse the vaccine, so the pandemic will continue for a long time. I’m going to get my shots, right away as they become available. I remember the scare for the polio vaccine, and saw children screaming as they got their shots. I like smarts and safety, but then there’s the Sierra Club. They banned ropes and similar hardware, so their trips are now dangerous.

I had to ask for towels, as the motel was so deficient. I’m mentioning this on a review, as I was so upset. Some locations are wonderful, but this location is a dive. Poor TV reception, and rundown looking.
