The two peaks, Muddy Peak (5,363')
and Muddy Mountains Highpoint (5,432'), make a tough double climb.
Our round trip time was some 12 hours, and the day included some
class 3 climbing. The Muddy Peak class
3 route goes up the middle of the gullied face, as approached
by the northerly ridge. Some rock windows
were seen approaching the highpoint of the Muddy Mountains. Hidden
Valley also makes a fine sight, from the saddle between the two
peaks. Photos taken February 23, 2002, by Petesthousandpeaks.
