RATTLESNAKE MOUNTAIN 99X February 3, 2022

Usually tired and feeling lousy, much of the past couple weeks, I didn't go hiking. Instead to stick about home with frugality, I had an urge for chicken wings with other foods. Getting items from the supermarkets, I cooked a lot at home.

Finally, on this sunny Thursday, I had cooked up some remaining wings, got caffeine at the fast food, and mustered up energy for a hike. As they had not replaced the outhouse at the Huffaker Hills TH, I had to take a dump off the dirt road, after speaking with some other hikers. My mind was to clean it all up later, as I didn't have any shopping bags, but on my descent, scattered some hastily scooped up dirt over my waste. My problem is that I often have a runny stomach, but this would be the first time I did any watery polluting of the area. I'd be back to scatter more dirt over the mess, and anyway, I saw numerous food garbage about the hike start.

So topping out on my 99X, I didn't turn back as I maybe should have. Motoring then to use the restroom at the organic buffet eatery, I managed to get home without another forced stop.

With the dry weather, I can shovel it all up if I choose to do so, but with the hundreds of dogs let loose on this peak, likely it'll just decompose, like the waste from all the animals. With the refusal of the parks district to install a new outhouse, so I was forced to let loose in an urban watershed. As I cleared most of my system beforehand at the restaurant, it all was mostly waste water, with highly diluted pollution. I'm open to comments on what I should do if anybody ever reads this, as I've gone back on other times to remove all traces of my runny stomach.

Getting older and lacking energy, I am starting to turn lazy and thusly not thinking too well. I adopted my policy of pee bottles and wag bags back in 2013, though a few times, I used the areas as a toilet. I figure so many backpackers just dig a cathole, but as I mostly day hike, I can leave no trace. I had hoped to hold it in, but sometimes I just get an undeniable urge. I want to soon complete my 100X on this peak, so continued to the top, instead of turning back to use a proper restroom.
