THORTON POINT 38X, RATTLESNAKE MOUNTAIN 50X May 16, 2021
With a hearty breakfast, I bagged Thorton Point 38X. Getting sleepy and tired, as I had gotten up early, I went back home to rest in bed.
I made reservations for the deluxe casino steakhouse, but woke up about 10 minutes before the reservation time. Calling the eatery, I arranged to change my reservation to a bit later. Motoring down to the casinos, I made it in time for dinner. I had long wished to celebrate my move-in, but not till the covid restrictions had been lifted. Going to gamble, I won $25 on one play at 21.
Taking the main street south, I came to the Huffaker Hills TH parking lot, to leave my dash cams running. It would capture the stormy views, so then I started up for the peak. With clouds and then a double rainbow, this was a wonderous day. Topping out for my 50X, the views were filled with clouds and light. I chatted with another hiker, and then the wind began to gust. I decided not to bag Twin Peaks, so motored back home.
