THORTON POINT 54X AND THE TAHOE RIM TRAIL June 29, 2021

Up early and cooling the house, I started the day by bagging Thorton Point 54X. Back home, I made somen and had dessert. Tired of the warming rooms in my home, I decided to try some trail angeling. Gathering drinks and placing them into my cooler, I motored up to Mt. Rose TH. First though, I stopped at the enviro clothing store to pick up a repaired older sweater and good deals. I came upon two backpackers thumbing, so I gave them both a ride down to North Lake Tahoe. Dropping them off, I spent some time at the resort casinos, where I was unable to get food.

Motoring back to the highway summit, I sought to provide free cold drinks and snacks. Late in the day, no more backpackers came by. It had rained slightly, but I hiked up north on the Rim Trail. With just photos, I did time lapse of the thunderheads using my car dash cams. Driving back down the hill, I had a meal at the natural foods store and later chips and dip back home.

Testing out my new ladder, I feared for a freak accident if I used it to climb up on my roof. Better with help, and as it was windy, I refrained from my own roof work. Maybe someone wil respond to my ad, for help at $80-100/hour. Better to pay someone than to fall off my roof!
