MT. ROSE 17X July 8, 2021

Up at 1:30 a.m., I got to webwork. With a light breakfast, I needed to work up an appetite for tonight's dinner. I motored back up to Sierra Summit, and started my hike to the top of Mt. Rose at 6:30 a.m. Making great time up the trail, I stopped for breaks a few times, and saw that I was doing well. I encountered a few hikers on their way down, then close to the top, hikers refused to go on, due to the wind, by them. I knew it wasn't far, so struggled with a high wind, then as I reached the summit, the wind subsided. Joyed with my 17X, I started with view capture.

Other hikers came up, and I lounged in the rock ring shelter, with selfie videos. After about an hour, I started down, by about 11 a.m. Continuing to capture photos, I shed my 3 layers, and enjoyed the descent. Back to the car by 2:15 p.m., I motored back home to take a cold shower, change clothes, and zoomed down to the casinos.

I had made a reservation a few days before, as I had tried many times during the pandemic, but due to being booked up or me dining solo, I had been refused. I sat at the teppan style table, with several others, and enjoyed the show, with a highly skilled teppan chef. I had miso soup, sunomono, veggies, salmon, and chicken teriyaki, then for dessert, rainbow sherbert. As they refused convenience payment, and I didn't have change, I couldn't leave a good tip.

Motoring back home, it was a safely done and successful day. With a peak with over 2,000 feet of gain, I'm ready for more!
