THORTON POINT 55X July 3, 2021

Up early with breakfast, I bagged Thorton Point 55X. Returning home, I microwaved some dim sum, then somen. Placing my new art about my home, it now looks nicer. Going to the local Superstore, I bought items for the old queen bed, to be available for thru-hikers and guests, and also groceries. Then to try the new eatery, with refills on drinks and chicken wings with fries.

Impatient with neighbors, I sought to use my new ladder to reenable my roof security cam. The handypeople placed it, but then refused to go back onto the roof, due to their insurance, by them. I offered a job at $80-100/hour to reconnect the power cord, and adjust the cam view, but nobody. I then figured to use my climbing ropes to secure me in case of an accident, then found a neighbor who'd brace the ladder as I climbed it. I set up the ladder, and with the neighbor's assist, climbed to the lower roof. I hauled up the ladder to ascend to the upper roof, and lasso'ed the pipes on the upper roof, tied in, and climbed the ladder to access the security cams. This done safely and successfully, I then left the ropes for future safety. I took down the ladder, and my security cam sunrise view was now streaming.

A big weight off my mind, I can now access my own roof, with safety. I will further do roof work, as I need to brace the 2 x 4 that holds the cams. One more thing to do is to get the remote for the motorized cellular shade that covers my skylight window, and also to get the installer to place the rod and thermal curtain, awaiting some servicing. Then operating the shade will provide light from the sun to stream into my living room and loft, saving me energy costs from my LED lighting. With the curtain install, my home will be better insulated, and thus great energy efficiency.

Then to other things, as more art and tech for the home, possibly later to be flipped for capital gains. I can share the cam views, if any good person would wish to view the sky as seen from my rooftop. Soon to be, I will capture the views, edit them, and post what good sunrises or sunsets to my website, all in time lapse. Hurray for technology!
