LAS VEGAS DAY FIFTY NINE January 8, 2021

Lone Mountain 32X

Buying a new 128 GB memory card, I did not see that it failed to save my photos. I had formatted it, but for some reason, many of my photos for today were not captured.

I had chicken tamales for lunch, then going to the copy store, made prints for the register. I ordered a double protein fajita, at the nearby fast food. Back home, I prepared the new register container. I tied a leash, and also strapped it to my pack.

About this time, I started using the new memory card.

Near sundown, I started the climb to the top of Lone Mountain 32X with my register container strapped poorly to my pack. It did work loose, but my ascent time is many times about 25 minutes without even trying. I took photos of the new register, and also some panoramas in the twilight. Sadly, this photo work was all lost. Perhaps this memory card is not supported by the camera?

No big deal today that I had no peak photos, it was just the twilight photos which may have been blurred, anyway. I failed to make sure that the photos were being recorded, in a sort of a rush. I would not have thought that this memory card type was not supported by the camera. I tried formatting the card and indeed, it still failed to save to the memory card which appears empty.

As this new card was for a low price, I just will revert to an older card that works. I picked it up this day at a locker at the gas station, straight from the online retailer.

I signed into the register book, and started down in the dark. With a powerful LED flashlight, I was somewhat fearful of a freak slip. I stayed careful, and successfully and safely made it down. My rear dash cam fell off, on my drive home, and I declined to stop to fix it. I had it wedged into the rear window space, but the suction cups tend to fail, as you use them again and again.

My auto insurance premium is due to go way up, about double, as I had the two parking accidents. The first one is allowed by accident forgiveness, but the second one is not. Unacceptable that it goes so high, as the damage is cosmetic, I will get it repaired, and then terminate the policy, as another insurer says that they will not count parking accidents. Shame to have to leave the best insurance company, but the premium will be too high for the next three years. I then get cheaper insurance, but no roadside assistance as I have been. With home and auto bundled, I get a lower overall rate, so good, there.

I never had any accident that ever was my fault, till now. I have been rear ended, front ended, broadsided, and vandalized. I am getting older, and thought of selling the car with the minor damage to avoid the premium increase. Maybe to talk with an insurance company rep, to see my options.

Risky to go without roadside service, as I may run out of power/range as I go along. The car tells you if charging is not available the way that you go. Plenty of Superchargers being built, and with more and more customers requiring fast charge, I expect even more to be built.

Also today, I started using my new magnetic belt, said to cure a variety of ills, touted by a seller in Oatman, AZ. The belt that he sold was some $150, but online, I found one for $40. With weaker magnets, I will see if it is quackery or actually works. I did some research online, to take this gamble.

Movie clips.
