LAS VEGAS DAY FIFTY TWO January 1, 2021

Ash Meadows

Up to get some breakfast, I had to get power, so drove over to the Linq. Just using the restroom, I was off for Death Valley. Taking NV 160, I had to stop to use my pee bottle. Getting to Pahrump, I took the road towards the Wildlife Refuge. Having to use a restroom, I stopped at a bar to get cranberry juice. No 0.0., or even Bud Zero.

Motoring on, I took photos. Then to the side road to the hiking, I stopped at the entrance signs for photos. The road was dirt, but no large rocks to even smash into, with care. The maps they showed were not to scale, so I had some doubt. Asking another driver, he gave me good information, and then I saw the roads that I wanted were further than the gated side roads.

Driving slowly and carefully, I made it to Devils Hole. I took the short hike to the fenced off feature, as the government seems serious about endangered species preservation. Going further to the hole that is covered by more fence, I could not get a good shot through the barrier. I kept the hiking stats on my Watch, and motored back south to the second road to do the Point of Rocks trail.

With a few maskless morons, about, I did video of the pupfish. Also a video of the trail. It is a short trail with a boardwalk, and runs to an amphitheater of sorts. I captured video of the pupfish, although maybe a waterproof camera with a long selfie stick to be placed underwater could do better.

Back to the car, and driving out on the same road, the sun began to set. In my rear dash cam, this would have been captured. Stopping at a fast food in Pahrump, I had a sandwich meal, and thought of buying a home here. Cheaper it seems, than Vegas or Reno, I would have to check this out.

I enjoyed the distant nighttime sight of Vegas at night, as I took NV 160 back to town. Then motoring to the free parking garage, I started with some shopping. I bought some crystal pens for cheap, on sale. No slim showgirls, so I skipped this, with some going off work.

Hungry again, I had more food. Gambling, I won $25! Plenty of people, with the holiday weekend, but most everyone wore a mask. Some did not respect proper distancing, but it was crowded, so what can you do?

Back to the Mall, I got more souvenirs, and went back home shortly, with dash cam video through the Arch. I downloaded the camera work, and tired, went to bed.

Movie clips.
