LAS VEGAS DAY FORTY TWO December 22, 2020

Lone Mountain 26X and 27X

Getting breakfast at the nearby fast food, I motored to the Lone Mountain trailhead for my 26X. With too many maskless morons, again, I then drove to the electric car dealership.

I’d offer to buy another car as an upgrade, but the model I test drove didn’t have as much cargo space as it seemed. Also slower on 0 to 60 mph, and then a heavier car. With less than I wanted for trade-in, I declined then to buy a new car. Better to get repairs on my present car, and with keeping both the present car and then to get the electric pickup (due 2022 now), this seems unlikely to be financed. They had refused to do any financing checking, as the truck isn’t yet out.

Home, to rest, I went out again for dinner. Then to bag the peak for my 27X, all after dark, with flashlights. The telephotos of the nighttime views were mostly unusable, even though I used a mini tripod. I guess fuzzy by what wind jiggling the camera, or by what quirk due to the extreme telephoto used.

Too many maskless morons on the descent, as they refuse to abide by any rules. I can see why deaths are spiking, as the morons don’t believe in either masks or social distancing. They bring up pets for infection, and asking, one dog walker said his dog liked hiking. Many better places to walk a dog, but as it seems, better then to potentially infect hikers.

With the vaccines coming, it can’t be too soon. The pandemic will go on for years, so we all still have to wear masks and keep social distancing. They’re not 100% effective, so beware everybody.

Getting a sandwich after the hike, I took a shower and headed for bed.
