LAS VEGAS DAY TWO November 12, 2020

Starting this day at 3:55 a.m., I got to my computer. With FTP issues, I had to send the files and folders by e-mail, to then be uploaded by the web host to the website. Getting the local TV station stream, I looked forward to a full day in Sin City.

First, I had to get the car charged, with this done at the Linq Supercharger. Then to the Post Office, to get business done. This took me way up to the north part of town, and my dash cams were running.

Then, with that settled, it was back to the Strip. I first had a look at my future, temporary home, right off Las Vegas Boulevard. Sort of a rundown area, but the photos show nice inside. Kind of disappointed, neighbors were running some sort of outdoor meeting. Back to the free, huge parking garage off East Harmon Avenue, I parked my car, and cleared of my things, wouldn’t be a further temptation to thieves.

Going to my fav Vegas casino for dining, the dim sum op that I sought weren’t there. The restaurant is closed on Wednesdays and Thursdays. I had a lobster hand roll, then scallops, at the adjacent eatery. Then getting an apple donut, this was pretty sugary. Then seeing a place with ramen, I zoomed on over there. It was up to $40 a bowl, and asking the help, they claimed that you get a lot. Too much for me, I got a spot at a counter, and ordered $14 pork belly buns.

They were really nice to me, with water in a frosted carafe. They even poured it for me, so I’d likely be back tomorrow for ramen.

Going back to the car, I ran into two showgirls. Pretty and sweet, I had to find a place to put the camera for a self-timer photo. Mostly, I shoot with good lightning conditions, and it was bright sun with shadows. Nonetheless, with little use anymore for paper cash, I gave them a bill without any smaller bill or change.

Tomorrow, my future phone goes on sale, so to spend a lot to get 5G. I’ll trade in my older phone, where the manufacturer gives me only $500 for it. Maybe more from the telecommunications company, as I heard then you get the new phone for free, as long as you subscribe to their wireless plan.

I had looked for the company store, but nothing in the Strip Mall, there. To pay them a visit on Friday, and then maybe a new phone. Anxious to get the faster speeds, I have to do a physical pick up and then a trade-in, with no permanent mailing address for now.

Going back to my place, I found that the web host had fixed my FTP issue. I started to upload files and folders, with webwork now back to usual. I have dozens of movie clips, special on this road trip. And now a lot of dash cam videos, all captured at 4 fps.

I had food from the supermarket, so my appetite for this day is done. No peaks today, but maybe later. To be busy with webwork for the rest of the day, to get the waiting stuff uploaded. Then back to webwork as usual, and to try some peak or what tomorrow. Feeling good with my new digs, this’ll be only till after the New Year. No fireworks this time, but many mass gatherings.

They say the vaccine may be ready by the end of this year, and I hope I get the doses quickly as I’m at risk. To enjoy life in the gamblingest town, and hope to strike it rich!

Movie clips.
