LAS VEGAS DAY FIVE

WHITNEY MESA November 15, 2020

Up early at about 3:40 a.m., I started the upload of my videos from yesterday. I had been too tired to do it then. I went for breakfast at a local restaurant, ordering sausage and eggs with blueberry pancakes. Busy, I had to wait 30 minutes. I didn’t like that it was crowded, and not everybody stayed six feet apart. I left no tip, as they don’t really care about customer safety. The food was okay, but by the pandemic, this’ll be the last time to eat here.

Going home, the upload was still in progress, and I had to leave for my hike as daily exercise. I cancelled the upload, and took off using the navigator. This led me to the Whitney Mesa Rec Area, where I got a parking spot. With my mask and setting the workout app, I headed up the trail to overlooks.

I came to good view of Henderson, NV. Chatting with a couple, he mentioned many things about living in Las Vegas. Maybe taking 35 minutes, they left, so I continued hiking. I saw a shortcut that leads down to the roads. The loop continues by a high school, but I wanted to get back to my car. Descending slowly, I got to the flat bike trail, and took it towards the car.

Using the facility at the kids playground, I took Arroyo Grande Boulevard to the main street. Back to my car, I did only some 2.48 miles with 183 feet gain. Looking for ramen, I found a place nearby, so using navigator, found it. They have restrooms and support Apple Pay. I ordered braised beef ramen. They served this fast, and the slices of meat were low quality. Too much fat and gristle for my taste. I left a dollar tip, as I didn’t have to get close to other patrons.

Late at about 3 p.m., I sought other things to do. Too late to do a better hike, I motored on home. I washed off my car, once on the street. Cleaned off the bugs and dirt, I feel better about the car.
