HALLOWEEN LAKE NATOMA WALK October 31, 2010

Seeking some cleaner exercise on this fine fall day, I caught the light rail train and rode out to Historic Folsom, once again. Starting by about 11:14 a.m., I started taking pictures. Construction work was still in progress, and it didn't look like there'd be ice skating with the warmer temperatures. Cars were allowed on Sutter Street, and a few tourists were about.

The river was pretty placid, and I walked over the truss bridge. Using the restroom, I sought to stay out of the way of the many fast cyclists. I captured more images, and then feeling tired, figured to do a half loop.

Crossing over the Hazel Avenue Bridge, I saw work still being done there. I took the pedestrian bridge over U.S. 50, then caught the light rail home.

Hiking then some 6.5 miles, I captured some 62 images. I spent the $5 round trip fare, and nothing for food on the way.

No bugs, and they had removed the graffiti. Some fall colors, I probably should have walked the bike trail from Old Sac for that, today. Few people in costume that I could see, a low key event if any. Signs indicated that a half marathon had been run, although I only saw slight manifestation of this.

Beginning in two layers and long pants, I soon stripped down to a T. I was perspiring in the sun. Maybe I'll resume my hiking, out of town, without any partner. I really need to lose some weight!
